KeySIM makes multi-network IoT SIM cards available to consumers

KeySIM has opened its IoT SIM service to consumers following increased demand from people who need one or a small number of SIM cards for alarm systems, vehicle trackers, security equipment and other connected devices.

Previously focused exclusively on business customers, KeySIM has made the change after receiving a growing number of enquiries from consumers seeking a more reliable alternative to traditional single-network SIM cards.

Each KeySIM IoT SIM can connect to Vodafone, O2, EE and Three in the UK rather than being restricted to one mobile operator. The SIM cards can also connect to hundreds of mobile networks overseas.

Growing demand from consumers

Connected technology is no longer used only by large companies. Consumers increasingly operate alarm systems, GPS trackers, remote cameras and other devices that need reliable mobile connectivity.

Many of these customers require only one or two IoT SIM cards but still want access to the same multi-network connectivity, online management tools and support available to larger corporate deployments.

KeySIM has therefore removed its business-only restriction, allowing consumers to purchase and manage individual IoT SIM cards from 1 September 2026.

A single SIM can be purchased for £3.50 per month, with data charged at £0.0035 per MB. KeySIM can also apply usage caps to help customers control their data consumption and avoid unexpected charges.

The service has no minimum contract, so customers are not committed to a lengthy agreement. This can be particularly useful for trackers, temporary security systems and other equipment that may only be required for a limited period.

One IoT SIM with access to all four major UK networks

A conventional mobile SIM will normally connect to its own network. A KeySIM multi-network IoT SIM can use Vodafone, O2, EE or Three in the UK, giving a connected device more options when coverage varies between locations.

This can be important for equipment such as vehicle and asset trackers, which regularly move between different coverage areas. It can also help alarm systems and remote security equipment installed in locations where the best-performing mobile network is not known in advance.

Consumers can now access the same underlying IoT connectivity already used by KeySIM’s established corporate customers.
