EMCC launches in Portugal

News provided by EMCC on Monday 20th Jan 2020

Brussels, 20 January 2019 – On 20 January 2020 EMCC launched in Portugal during a special event attended by EMCC Global President, Dr Riza Kadilar and EMCC Global Special Ambassador, Professor David Clutterbuck.

EMCC President, Riza Kadilar, signed the affiliation agreement at today’s special launch event saying ‘The launch of EMCC Portugal is so timely and important. Given the current major challenges humanity is facing today, we should all work together to create an inclusive society fit for dealing with digital age, and for coping with climate challenge. Within this perspective coaching and mentoring offers unique and meaningful tools to reach these goals. I should also take this opportunity to congratulate Lisbon for being awarded as the 2020 European Green Capital, and wish all the best to the founding members of EMCC Portugual in their projects. I’m confident that EMCC Portugal will have meaningful contributions to the further development of human capital in this very charming country.

Founding President of EMCC Portugal, Manuel Nunes da Silva, said ‘The foundation of EMCC Portugal is a remarkable event for the Portuguese economic and social environment. The tremendous worldwide prestige that is that EMCC is held in fills us with pride in having and representing it in Portugal. As the themes of Coaching, Mentoring, and Supervision are increasingly current and present in various sectors of the Portuguese economy and society, the issues of ethics, formation ,and accreditation become essential to guarantee the quality of performance of these activities. Who better than EMCC to guarantee these? We are sure that no other organisation could do this. The strong growth expected in Portugal of Mentoring, Coaching, and Supervision activities, and the more than expected exponential increase of professionals wishing to start or develop these activities, make this a fertile ground for the future development of EMCC Portugal. Europe would be incomplete without Portugal and so EMCC would also be incomplete without Portugal. Together we will be bigger and stronger.’
