The film Game of Ayodhya is a love story between a Hindu youth and a Muslim girl,which was set in the backdrop of the Babri mosque demolition.Debutante director Sunil Singh has taken up an unusual subject The Game Ayodhya film which is Slated for release on December 8, Mr Sunil Singh plans to hold a special screening of the film for BJP leader LK Advani and SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Mai chahta hu mandir todne wale aur banane wale, dono saath mein film dekhein. We have approached Advaniji for a screening, once we get a date, we will also approach Mulayam ji,” Sunil said

The protagonist of the film is a journalist who's covering Advani's yatra. After his love story faces issues because of the demolition, he goes back to the yatra and discovers the political developments that led to the tragic event He also clarifies that they have not picked sides but shown the things as they were.CBFC has not given them a certificate but Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) has passed it recently.

'The Game of Ayodhya' is based on Liberahan commission's report that the BJP has dumped, the director revealed.The Liberhan Commission was an inquiry-board commissioned by the Government of India to investigate the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992.It was led by retired High Court Judge MS Liberhan.The board was formed by an order of the Indian Home Ministry after the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on 6 December.

Reacting to reports of an ABVP activist threatening to kill him for hurting his religious sentiments, filmmaker Sunil Singh said, “I have only shown the truth in my film. The people who buried the truth and the ones who fear the truth, are attacking me and the film.

According to reports, Aligarh-based ABVP worker Amit Goswami has announced a bounty of Rs 1 lakh for anyone who chops off Singh’s hands. “If this film is released in the cinema halls then the administration and government will be responsible for any untoward incident.I will kill him if I see him anywhere. He is trying to hurt our sentiments through the film."

HinduYuva Vahini (HYV), a group founded by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), thestudent wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), have opposed therelease of Game of Ayodhya.

The Aligarh unit of the HYV submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate of Aligarh, demanding a ban on the movie. Mr. Sunil Singh, however, appealed to people to watch it first.

Responding to the opposition of Hindutva groups to the film, Mr. Singh said, “I am also a follower and ardent lover of Lord Ram. People should first watch the movie and then decide if they should oppose it. It is not proper to make a judgement without watching the film. It merely shows the reality of those political leaders who became national leaders by demolishing the mosque.”
