‘ADS’ Annual Sponsored Santa Fun Run 2017 - Fun for all the Family!

On Sunday 26^th November, at Dorney Lake, Eton Dorney, with many local volunteers (and 40 RAF Cadets) will assist the local charity, Alzheimers Dementia Support (‘ADS’) to host its annual fundraising event for the 6^th year in a row.

It is anticipated that a minimum of 500 – 600 participants from all walks of life (running, walking, wheeling etc.) will participate in the event and this will ensure that once again, the event is filled with lots of ‘fun and laughter’ as everyone taking part will be dressed in Santa suits (including babes in buggies and dog’s on leads).

The huge efforts made by all participants will hopefully raise funds for the local charity which; “Will be fully spent, to support the needs of People living with Dementia, their Carers and Families, in our local Communities”, said David Jannetta (the Charity’s Voluntary Chairman).

‘ADS’ is given sponsorship monies and practical support from local businesses, David explained, ‘Without the support and funding given by our Key Sponsor; Mortgage Required and the events’ Main Support Sponsor, Hale and Company the charity would not be in a position to host this fun-filled annual event’. Of course we mustn’t forget the sponsorship raised by the many Runners who have made this a main date in their diaries as well as encouraging new ones to join in, are what make it a success.

Alzheimers Dementia Support (‘ADS”) currently ‘touches the lives’ of approximately 1,000 people living with Dementia in Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead, Slough and Langley (and all points in between) and depends on all of the sponsorship support and monies donated to deliver their many Services.

David explained; ”Organising a Fun Filled Event of this size and complexity, requires a huge effort, from all concerned, but it is well worth all of the planning and preparation work involved, for three key reasons:

1. The event raises much-needed funds (to actively support People living with Dementia, their Carers and Families, in our LOCAL community);

2. The event provides a ‘fun day out’ for individuals (including those with disabilities) and families (of all ages) in the run-up to the festive season and;

3. The event raises awareness of the charity and its work in the local community”.

What we do & why we do it: Alzheimers Dementia Support 'ADS' is a predominately Volunteer-run charity which offers constructive practical Support, Guidance, Information and a wide range of Exciting Services designed to help people within the LOCAL community whose lives are directly or indirectly affected by Dementia.
