Wokingham based charity Younger People with Dementia, which provides unique support services for people across Berkshire who have been diagnosed with dementia at 65 and under, has partnered with office design company Morgan Lovell, for the next 12 months, as Morgan Lovell’s staff team of 60 embark on fundraising for the much-loved charity. This year-long partnership kicks off with Morgan Lovell’s team taking on the gruelling Thames Path Challenge in May.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Morgan Lovell’s team for choosing Younger People with Dementia as their Charity of the Year,” says Mark Hainy, Charity Director. “There is a real spark about their team and their commitment to help us to raise awareness and money means we can continue to reach out and provide age appropriate support to Berkshire residents diagnosed with Young Onset Dementia.”

Tim Polisano, Chair of Morgan Lovell’s Welfare Committee, who worked with the company’s team to select the Charity of the Year is raring to go and to make this partnership the most successful charity partnership to date. “Our team are already gearing up for the 65 mile Thames Path Challenge in May. We are a company committed to meaningful, local causes and we absolutely love coming together to take on challenges and events that make the world a better place for others.”

The funds that the Morgan Lovell team raise over the next year will support work across Berkshire including workshops specially developed for people diagnosed with Young Onset Dementia. These workshops, which include: art, equine therapy and katakanuing, among many others, help those with a diagnosis to maintain a sense of self, maintain a social network and reduce the likelihood of loneliness and isolation, along with giving their carers much needed respite during the week.
