Wovenhill's Fundraising Takes Off with the Air Ambulance

Rattan garden furniture specialists Wovenhill are marking their first year under new branding by supporting various charities and local community projects. One charity very close to their hearts is the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA). They attend approximately 1,000 rescue missions every single year, from horse riding incidents to major road traffic collisions, as well as medical emergencies such as heart attacks.

Wovenhill's husband & wife team recently used the services of the Air Ambulance for an accident outside their home. "The speed, efficiency and bravery of the crew involved was remarkable. It spurred us on to try and generate donations through the sale of our rattan garden furniture at the trade shows we have planned for 2014." Managing Director Martin Stevens said. The focus of Wovenhill’s WNAA fundraising campaign has been during their attendance at Point to Point horse racing events. "The link between horse-riding, the Air Ambulance and Wovenhill is a recipe for success, and our aim is to raise lots of money for this fantastic cause."

Wovenhill’s involvement with the horse community stems from the Managing Director Tracy Stevens’ life-long interest in horses. "The Air Ambulance is a crucial service, not only within the equine community, but across the local area. You’d be hard-pushed to find someone who hasn’t heard of a great rescue story involving the Air Ambulance. Last May alone, they were called out to 18 horse riders. The Air Ambulance service plays such an important role in continuing the safety of horse-riders."

As a result, 5% of Wovenhill’s net sales taken at three Point to Point race meetings will be donated to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. Their services primarily cover Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, but they are often called in to help much further afield, including major incidents elsewhere in the UK. Flying out of Coventry Airport, the WN Air Ambulance attends an average of three rescue missions every single day, costing an average of £1,700 each, and relies solely on public donations.
