'Worst Rapper' Releases 'Best Song of 2014'
Dave In Charge, the unconventional, eccentric and lyrical grandson of a British politician, awkwardly nicknamed 'the worst rapper' by the media, has released a new single, Hold My Hand; a track that some are calling 'the best song of 2014'.
Hold My Hand is now available to download from iTunes and to stream via Spotify.
The Hold My Hand music video was made public prior to the single release, prompting heartfelt praise from the online community, such as:
"Arguably the best song of 2014" – Azza (YouTube)
"Need to learn the lyrics to this one now! Love love love!" – Barbarella Kinn (Facebook)
"This goes into my top 10 tunes, right above Dizzee Rascal - Bonkers" – Reece (Twitter)
"Inspirational" – 316 (GrimeForum)
However, not everyone was celebrating; YouTube commenter Ruth Sweeney's proposal to become "Mrs In Charge" was met with disapproval on Twitter, by a female fan known as "I love Dave".
Dave In Charge, also known as David Palmer, is the grandson of The Lord and Lady Palmer of Childs Hill, and grew up in Golders Green, North West London. He rose to fame following the success of his last single, Habitat, which became a cult classic after being picked up by the press and played on TV and radio around the world.
A few weeks ago, speculation of the name to Dave's new single was triggered when the cheeky #HoldMyWhat viral marketing campaign successfully provoked an overwhelming list of saucy suggestions.
Following the music video's release, not afraid to speak his mind, Dave released an article that explained the meaning behind it.
