virtualDCS shortlisted for 'Raising the bar’ award
“At virtualDCS we believe that it is important for us to give back to the local community, any way we can” said Peter Bowers, Director at virtualDCS.
The annual award ceremony takes place on Wednesday 11th November and celebrates businesses throughout Yorkshire which have dramatically contributed to the region.
The awards are separated into the key areas of education, economy and the environment. Having been shortlisted in the education category, virtualDCS is thrilled to be nominated for the award.
“At virtualDCS we believe that it is important for us to give back to the local community, any way we can" said Peter Bowers, Director at virtualDCS. In addition to completing a number of unique fundraising challenges for charities, we've also had a strong impact on educational establishments around Yorkshire. We've had team members acting as mentors, HEART ambassadors and lecturers for higher education establishments."
“virtualDCS prides itself on being creative and thinking outside the box. We need to ensure our services for Disaster Recovery and Cloud Infrastructures are always innovative, especially when helping Software companies gain competitive advantage through Software as a Service. This creative ability is often reached through the curious minds of our younger employees, presenting ideas which frequently lead to interesting results," continued Peter.
In the team's most recent corporate social responsibility drive, virtualDCS has been visiting schools around Yorkshire to discuss online appearance and safety with students.
Ian Brown, manager of HEART, commented on the dedication of virtualDCS to its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts:
“virtualDCS were an early sign up company to our scheme and have offered exceptional support ever since. The support offered to HEART personally is fantastic but they go the extra mile by supporting initiatives such as those in schools, using their expertise to offer advice on all matters relating to online working and safety."
Raising the Bar is a new initiative from The Chamber that helps companies with their social responsibility aims. It enables companies to document and benchmark how they help local communities, education, the economy and the environment.
