Vendee Labs launches a private AI shopping agent that answers only to the shopper

JERSEY, Channel Islands — 1 September 2026 — Vendee Labs today released the VendeeX Personal Shopping Agent, a free, local-first application built on three promises: it works only for the shopper, its AI and data stay on the shopper’s own computer, and it is held to European data-protection standards. The company calls the approach buyer-sovereign, and says it is what lets an AI agent shop for someone without ever working against them.

The application can be downloaded today at www.vendeex.ai, in 19 languages, for macOS. Windows and Linux versions will be available shortly.

Why now. AI agents are becoming a primary way people shop, and most of them are built and owned by the platforms that sell the products they recommend. At the same time, personalised pricing has drawn regulatory attention: a 2025 US Federal Trade Commission study found that companies use personal data, including location, to set individualised prices. VendeeX is a structural answer to both — an agent that answers to the shopper, and whose data stays on the shopper’s own device, leaving far less for anyone to price against.

Buyer-sovereign. The VendeeX agent answers to the person doing the shopping and to no one else. It carries no advertising and no paid placement, and commission data is withheld in the code from the parts that search, match and rank, so no merchant can pay to appear higher in a person’s results. Shoppers complete every purchase at the merchant’s own checkout; the VendeeX agent never holds or moves money, never acts inside a merchant’s account, and card details go to the store, not to Vendee Labs.

Local-first. The AI model and the shopper’s data live on their own machine, not on a company server. Identity, preferences, cart and purchase history stay on the device. To find products, a search travels through a gateway Vendee operates to reach merchants’ feeds, carrying the search terms but not the shopper’s name, and Vendee does not keep it or build a profile from it. Personal details leave the device only when the shopper chooses to buy, and then only what the chosen merchant needs to fulfil the order. Even the fonts for all 19 languages are bundled in the application, so nothing is fetched when a shopper switches language.

European protection. Vendee Labs is based in Jersey, which has its own data-protection law, the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018, modelled on the EU’s GDPR. The EU formally recognises Jersey as providing an adequate level of data protection. Shoppers hold European-grade rights over any data the company does keep, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, and object to how it is used.

The VendeeX Personal Shopping Agent is free to use, with no account, subscription or sign-in. It runs as a single desktop application for macOS, (Windows and Linux versions – coming soon), in 19 languages, and can be downloaded today at www.vendeex.ai. Vendee Labs earns through referral commission and a share of the card-processing fee that merchants already pay, never through advertising, and neither adds to the price a shopper pays.
