Tregothnan Pledges Support To Help Families With Sick Children

Bespoke British tea company, Tregothnan, are encouraging tea enthusiasts to get involved with The Sick Children’s Trust’s Big Chocolate Tea fundraising campaign to support families with seriously ill children.

Tregothnan, a family run business in Cornwall, have generously pledged their support by donating 1,000 teabags to the campaign in the hope supporters will pop the kettle on and join in The Sick Children’s Trust’s Big Chocolate Tea between 21 April and 1 May 2017.

Big Chocolate Tea is the charity’s biggest annual fundraising campaign aimed at tea, cake and chocolate lovers. People can take part by holding cake sale, tea party or bake-off during the last week of April and donating the proceeds to The Sick Children’s Trust. Last year, Big Chocolate Tea raised £60,000 – enough to support 2,000 families with ‘Home from Home’ accommodation. The Sick Children’s Trust is hoping it will be an even bigger success this year. Chief Executive, Jane Featherstone, says:

“We think tea and chocolate are the perfect combination, which is why our Big Chocolate Tea is such a highlight for supporters. Thanks to Tregothnan, this year, supporters will be able to enjoying the finest cup of afternoon tea from Tregothnan while they plan their event.

“With Tregothnan’s generous support, we’re hoping to reach out to hundreds more people, to raise awareness and funds for The Sick Children’s Trust. This will enable us to help even more families with ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, keeping them together just minutes from their seriously ill child’s hospital bedside.”

Supporters can choose to take part in Big Chocolate Tea at any point during the year and will receive a pack full of goodies which includes tea and chocolate pairing tips, recipe cards, cake labels, balloons, a cupcake stencil and much more. Bella Percy-Hughes, from Tregothnan, says:

‘We are so happy to be supporting Big Chocolate Tea. We are so humbled by the incredible work the charity does to aid the recovery of seriously ill children in hospitals. We know that a piece of cake and a cup of tea is the nation’s favourite way of catching up, so Big Chocolate Tea is perfectly placed to help spread the word about this wonderful charity and raise lots of money in the process!”

If participants raise at least £30 during Big Chocolate Tea, they will be able to support a family with ‘Home from Home’ accommodation for one night.
