An unrivalled sheet music experience on iPad.
The brand new release of the app features a stunning new design, better ways of discovering new sheet music and the best-in-class performance mode.
London, UK — 22 October 2013 — Sheet Music Direct, one of the world's biggest distributors of digital sheet music, announced today a new release of their Sheet Music Direct for iPad app.
An unrivalled sheet music experience on iPad.
The new release builds on the success of the debut version, bringing with it numerous improvements and one of the world's biggest catalogues of fully licensed sheet music and guitar tabs starting at just £0.69/0.89€/$0.99.
The in-app sheet music store is backed up by one of the world's largest catalogues of digital sheet music that includes artists like Adele, Ludovico Einaudi, Chilly Gonzales, Emeli Sande, Katy Perry, Coldplay and many more.
Chilly Gonzales, world-renowned pianist, producer and songwriter, says: "My Solo Piano II song 'White Keys' looks great in the new Sheet Music Direct for iPad app — the versatility enables pianists from beginners to experts to dissect the song from all of its angles and truly 'know' it."
"Our goal is to provide our customers with the best possible digital sheet music experience at a fair price. The debut version of Sheet Music Direct for iPad which was released a year and a half ago was a great start, but by listening to our customers' feedback we've been able to make considerable improvements to the app. The new app includes great new features like score and search cards, improved cloud syncing of scores, global favourites and a totally re-designed performance mode." — says Alec Saiko, the company's Marketing Manager.
The new release introduces an app-wide favourites feature which allows users to tag any score from the Store or their library for easy access. Items that aren't yet owned by the user will be marked as such, allowing the favourites to function as a wish list, too.
Sheet music discovery has been re-engineered by introducing search and score cards. Users will now be able to preview scores quickly as well as getting easy access to other similar artists. Once a similar score is selected, it will spawn a new score card with the score preview, allowing a user to swipe between the cards and favourite them at the same time.
Cloud sync has been improved further, allowing musicians to access their sheet music library even when they don't have their iPad with them simply by logging into the Sheetmusicdirect.com website.
The star of the show is the new performance mode. The user interface of the full-screen score has been re-designed in such a way that score controls like transposition, metronome and tempo are as unobtrusive as possible so now the musician can concentrate on what really matters — their performance.
"We believe the new version of our app provides an unrivalled sheet music experience for iPad users. Our sheet music store is as comprehensive as ever, but this time we've really put the user at the centre of our design ethic to make the app simple to use and intuitive for the musician" – says Sam Harrop, the company's Senior Digital Content Manager.
