On His Majesty’s Congenital Heart Service

News provided by Children's Heart Federation on Thursday 2nd Mar 2023

As part of the Children’s Heart Federation’s (CHF) mission to ensure that those affected by congenital heart conditions, and childhood acquired heart conditions, are recognised, supported and have the same opportunities as everyone else, CHF’s Chair and Vice-Chair of Trustees have engaged with the British Cardiovascular Society for many years.

Working with other patients, and ably supported by others in the congenital heart world, this commitment has now been recognised.

The British Cardiovascular Society is celebrating its centenary with a reception hosted by HRH The Princess Royal at St James Palace.

Paul, was born with his heart condition, he is also a Trustee of the Children’s Heart Association*, said:

“As an adult with a congenital heart defect I know how hard life can be for us, our families and friends. This event hopefully shows people that our issues are being raised at the highest levels and that improvements will continue to build on the successes of the past.”

Julie, is a bereaved parent of a heart child, and the driving force behind the charity Max Appeal*, said:

“This is a great opportunity to show how far congenital heart services have come, and yet how far they have still to go. I’m proud of the opportunity to represent the congenital heart community at this prestigious occasion.”
