New Nomad Charity Shop to open in support of Lincolnshire’s Homeless

News provided by YMCA Lincolnshire on Wednesday 4th May 2016

Lincoln based Homeless Charity, The Nomad Trust, will open the doors to their second shop in the city this weekend.

The new Charity Shop, based on Moorland Avenue, will provide high quality clothing, furniture and goods at affordable prices.

The new store’s launch event will take place this Saturday, 7th May, at 10am-4pm.

‘Through our new charity shop, the Nomad hopes to maintain and improve critical services for the homeless and vulnerable within our local community…’ says Dan Rogers, Commercial Manager for YMCA Lincolnshire and The Nomad Trust.

‘The funds raised through both charity shops will continue to feed back in to our homeless support services. We are working hard to secure funding for our new facility to be based on Croft Street, The Nomad Centre, which will provide direct access accommodation alongside support services.’

The team are looking for caring, enthusiastic volunteers with a passion for helping others; if you think you have what it takes, contact The Nomad Trust at: office@nomadtrust.org.uk

The Nomad Trust in partnership with YMCA Lincolnshire offers emergency shelter, support and advice services to rough sleepers, the homeless and vulnerable across the county.

‘Not only do we hope to raise funds in aid of our support projects, provide jobs and volunteering opportunities, we want to make quality goods accessible to the local community…’ explains Simon Nicoll, Business Development Manager.

The funds raised through the Furniture project and charity shops will go towards supporting The Nomad Trust’s projects, including the new Nomad Centre.

Based on Monks Way, the Nomad Warehouse offers furniture collection and delivery services. It also holds stock for The Nomad Trust’s Sincil Street Shop, and soon the new Moorland Avenue store. Both shops will also accept donations of smaller items directly.

The Nomad Trust and YMCA Lincolnshire operates a number of facilities across the county, also providing pioneering youth engagement, world class conferencing and events facilities, fitness courses and classes, CPD and work-place training, day-care and accommodation services.
