Mark Otten, former teacher of world's DJ #1 and many others, announces the immediate availability of a compelling producer coaching program held at the STMPD Studios in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, March 27th, 2019

Mark Otten is Martin Garrix’s former music production teacher at the Herman Brood Academy. Mark has a wealth of experience in the studio and music industry, both as a DJ and a producer with releases on labels including Armin van Buuren’s Armind (Armada Music) and Black Hole Recordings, as well as support from DJs such as Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Above & Beyond and many more. By launching the Producer Coaching sessions now everybody can get to learn the finesse of becoming a successful music producer.

Electronic dance music has made a huge impact in music culture worldwide in the last decade. Pop music has been significantly transformed because of its influences, with artists such as Coldplay, Rihanna and Snoop Dogg all collaborating with DJ's from the dance scene (Avicii, Calvin Harris and Hardwell respectively). It's therefor no surprise that more and more people have taken up producing music. As a result, the demand for information and lessons in music production also grew fast. Many get their information from Youtube, where an abundance of tutorials, top 10's of what to do can be found. In his work as a teacher/coach in music production, Amsterdam based Mark Otten however sees this leaves some things to be desired: 'I call the current generation of new producers 'rule collectors': most of them seem to have a strategy of gathering enough rules for music production in order to obtain great tracks. I however believe this strategy only works to a certain extent, it doesn't always get you to the level you want and has a tendency of removing spontaneity and personal creativity. I sense a growing need of personal feedback in order to make the music more real, original and from the heart and part of that will entail un-learning part of these gathered rules. Besides that, direct feedback could actually turn out to get you results a lot faster than endlessly watching tutorials"

Available immediately, the Producer Coaching sessions can be booked through STMPD Studios using a contact form on the website,, and the sessions are offered to those who want to improve their producing skills.

Mark has many years of experience teaching music production at some of The Netherlands’ most prestigious music education institutions, such as the Haarlem Conservatory, the Rockacademy and the Herman Brood Academy, where he did set up the Dance Producer department. With former students including Julian Jordan, Firebeatz, De Sluwe Vos, We Are Loud, Maduk, Pythius as well as Garrix, Mark is one of the leading names in electronic music education worldwide. Besides being a producer, Mark is also the co-founder of Massence Records, a brand new record label leveraging years of experience in music production.
