Local Business Joins The Sick Children’s Trust To Get Chocola-Tea

A Suffolk-based business that creates handmade skin products with a dedication to chocolate is getting even more chocola-tea to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust.

Cognito, in Felixstowe, has pledged to support The Sick Children’s Trust’s Big Chocolate Tea campaign by hosting a chocola-tea event on Saturday 8 April, 10:30am – 2pm.

Big Chocolate Tea is The Sick Children’s Trust biggest annual fundraiser which raises money to support families with free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation when their child is seriously ill in hospital. The charity runs ten ‘Homes from Home’ around the country and believes keeping families together significantly improves the recovery of the children.

Cognito founder, Sarah Cogin-Smith, is encouraging shoppers to pop in for a chocolaty treat, glass of Prosecco and to browse the chocolate 'flavoured' bath & body products to raise money for the charity. She says:

“As big chocolate fans ourselves with our own, ‘Dedicated to Chocolate’ range, we thought this was the perfect excuse to get people excited about all things chocolate - be that a chocolate flavoured Bath Truffle, Turkish Delight Lip Balm or delicious edible cake!

“We’re completely inspired by what The Sick Children’s Trust does in keeping families together at the most unimaginably difficult times. And because of that, on the day we will be making a donation from any orders received at the event in the hope of raising more money for the charity. So please do pop along and help us to support this amazing charity.”

Last year, Big Chocolate Tea raised £60,000 which gave 2,000 families free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, keeping them together with their sick child when it mattered most. The Sick Children’s Trust hopes this year’s campaign will be an even greater success.

Diane Mcpherson-Emery, Corporate Fundraiser at The Sick Children’s Trust says: “Big Chocolate Tea is The Sick Children’s Trust’s biggest annual fundraising campaign and such a lot of fun. Individuals up and down the country will be taking part to support thousands of families, keeping them close to their seriously ill child while they undergo lifesaving treatment in hospital. By getting involved with Big Chocolate Tea this April like Cognito you will be giving a family a ‘Home from Home’ when they need it the most.”

Supporters can choose to take part in Big Chocolate Tea at any point during the year and will receive a free fundraising pack full of goodies to hold the perfect event. For more information and to request your pack, please visit: http://www.sickchildrenstrust.org/bigchoctea.
