Leading trader challenges industry to find new waste to energy solutions

Leading international trader, Ranjit Singh Baxi, has challenged the waste industry to find more effective solutions to meet the urgent demands of the waste and waste to energy industries.

Launching his new book, Recycling Our Future – A Global Strategy, at the inaugural Paper Recycling Conference in New Delhi hosted by Recycling Today USA, Mr Baxi, Managing Director of J&H Sales (International) Ltd warned that changes across the industry were essential.

"If correctly treated to meet tough international demands, waste is a priceless asset. But illegal and dangerous shipments continue unabated," said Mr Baxi. "And while everyone speaks about the glamour of waste to energy, they pay little attention to the first step in the process - collection."

The book was formally launched by Jim Keefe of Recycling Today at a well-attended conference of senior figures from the Indian Paper Industry and delegates from all over the world at the Taj Palace, New Delhi.
