KODA Studios and How Their Partnership with One Tree Planted Aims to Promote Sustainability Within the Field of Furniture Making.

KODA Studios are specialists in the design and manufacture of high-quality, bespoke-made wooden furniture pieces. Having provided handcrafted furniture within the Yorkshire area as well as across much of the UK for multiple years, KODA are fully aware of the environmental damages that a reckless timber sourcing strategy can have on the health of the world around us.

Since their inception, KODA has placed sustainability at the forefront of their service offering and has implemented a broad range of policies within their own workshop to ensure that every product created by their team helps to empower clients and drive an environmentally-conscious mindset. While there is a long way to go until the world is completely renewable with it’s use of trees, KODA Studios are proud to be driving change and playing their part in slowly striving toward a brighter future.

Partnering With One Tree Planted

Deforestation leads to a plethora of environmental issues; most prominently, the release of carbon back into the atmosphere as well as a reduction in the quantity of carbon dioxide being converted back into oxygen via photosynthesis. Trees also play a major role in biodiversity with many animals and plants making forests their home. A shortage of trees endangers not only our own futures, but also that of the environment upon which we are so reliant.

In order to support reforestation across the globe, KODA has partnered with One Tree Planted – a non-profit organisation with the goal of regenerating forests and encouraging conservation within affected areas. In 2022 alone, One Tree Planted more than doubling their impact from 2021 by planting 52.7 million trees. In order to support this great cause, KODA has vowed that for every handmade furniture or lighting piece sold, a tree will be planted in an area affected by severe deforestation.

No-Waste Timeless Furniture

KODA Studios as furniture manufacturers have always had the motto – “buy well and buy once”. By producing pieces that are long-lasting and minimise waste, they reduce their impact on the environment and ensure that the purchased furniture becomes a staple of the home for many years to come. Every furniture piece constructed by KODA, be it a bookshelf, dining table, media unit, or other, is constructed from timber fully accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification(PEFC).
