Glasglow, Scotland – Simon Community Scotland, a charity dedicated to combating both the causes and effects of homelessness throughout the country, have paired up with SocialBox.Biz for expanding Socialbox.biz laptops for the homeless initiative in their cities.
SocialBox.Biz, a ground-breaking social enterprise specialising in recycling and storage solution is taking the United Kingdom by storm, this week announced they will expand their efforts into Scotland for greater electronic collection and rehoming, recycling, and up-cycling.
“Our laptops for homeless initiative in the UK has us so encouraged and energized that we want to expand our digital inclusion services to Scotland," said Peter Paduh, Founder of SocialBox.Biz. “We want to solve the digital exclusion obstacle that bars so many homeless from rejoining society. We are incredibly excited to announce our partnership with Simon Community Scotland for organized and effective laptop handover to homeless in accommodations."
Simon Paul director of community initiatives at Socialbox.biz added: “Many companies replace their older laptop computers with the latest in new technology so we turn problems firms face into opportunities for disadvantaged communities. I am sure many firms in Scotland will welcome this initiatives with the same enthusiasm as we do''
Functioning as one of many charity partners who have sought out SocialBox.Biz's laptop collection, preparation, and delivery services, Simon Community Scotland will also double as an electronic drop-off center for all interested businesses and corporations that want to donate their redundant laptops, computers, hardware, and other electronic accessories. Lorraine McGrath, Chief Executive of Simon Community Scotland said “online access is vital to the process of finding a safe home, managing benefits, applying for jobs and even just keeping connected with family and friends in todays world. Recycling others unwanted goods, is the perfect way to offer that same opportunity to people in homelessness and we are delighted to be working with SocialBox.Biz in bringing this approach to Scotland."
Their social business venture activities have been received incredibly well throughout London, and they look forward to transforming the lives of the homeless in Scotland.
