HCL Executives Selected for Recruitment and Employment Confederation Board

News provided by HCL on Wednesday 4th Jul 2012

HCL, one of the largest providers of temporary healthcare professionals to the National Health Service, has announced that two of its executives have been selected to join the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). The REC is the professional body dedicated to representing the interests of the UKs recruitment industry in Parliament, Whitehall, the European Commission and to the media. It represents 3,750 members, with more than 7,700 branches, and 5,550 individual members within the Institute of Recruitment Professionals

Miles Davis, Managing Director of HCL Healthcare, the UKs leading recruiter for allied health professionals (AHP) and health science services (HSS) has been selected to become an Individual Director at REC.

Miles has held Operating, Managing and Board Director roles within AIM listed PLCs and is a keen supporter of the REC, commenting: "I look forward to working with the REC on issues such as raising its profile as well as improving general professionalism and standards within the sector. I firmly believe that the REC should be a crucial governing body within the staffing industry that the Public and Private Sector should consult with on all matters relating to recruitment." Miles will share the knowledge and skills he has gained from his time at HCL Healthcare, which has helped thousands of healthcare professionals to find positions in some of the most sought after organisations in the UK.

Alyx Peters, managing director of HCL owned MPS Healthcare, has been selected as vice-chair of the RECs Healthcare sector. REC Healthcare is the newly formed specialist sector group for REC members working in health and social care recruitment. As part of her role, Alyx has, along with Sector Chairman Andrew Horner, co-opted nine members onto the newly formed executive committee.

REC Healthcare was formed at the end of 2011 by amalgamating three previously existing groups (REC Social Workers, REC Medical and REC Nursing), whose members then voted for a chair and vice chair for the new group. The aim of the Group is to provide specialist support and advice to agencies who work in the Healthcare sector.

"I am delighted to be part of the REC Healthcare board," commented Alyx Peters. "I hope my current recruitment and former clinical experience will help support members working in this specialist sector group, whilst also engaging collaboratively with key client decision makers and influencers to ensure positive outcomes for all involved.

These two appointments provide a strong reflection of HCLs position as the best recruitment company in the industry and its commitment to improving its service to both clients and candidates.

Ends.
