Superstrata is a new UK specification flooring brand from Marcias Ltd, the Glasgow-based group behind Sprung Gym Flooring — created specifically for architects, fit-out contractors, gym chains, and leisure trusts working on commercial fitness and leisure projects.

Glasgow, UK — 20 May 2026 — Marcias Ltd, the Glasgow-based parent company of Sprung Gym Flooring, today announced the launch of Superstrata (superstrata.fit), a new specification-grade flooring brand aimed at the UK architectural, fit-out, and commercial leisure sectors.

Superstrata has been created to serve a customer the existing Sprung brand was not designed for: the specifier. Where Sprung Gym Flooring serves direct buyers — gym owners, personal trainers, and facility managers — Superstrata is built for architects, designers, quantity surveyors, fit-out contractors, gym chain procurement teams, and leisure trust operators who require full technical documentation before a product can be specified on a project.

A response to growing specification demand

The launch follows several years of growth in specification-led enquiries reaching the Sprung team, including projects for major institutional and commercial clients. Marcias Ltd has supplied flooring to the Manchester United, Manchester City, Google, Pure Gym and David Lloyd.

"We kept getting calls from architects and contractors who needed a binder of test data before they could even consider specifying our products," said Richard McKay, Founder and Director of Marcias Ltd. "Fire certificates, acoustic test reports, EN-standard data, slip ratings, sustainability declarations. Sprung was built for operators who want a great floor delivered fast. It was never set up for the specification market. So we built something that is."

The Superstrata range

Every Superstrata product is supplied with a full specification documentation pack, including fire performance data, acoustic test results, slip resistance ratings, installation method statements, and sustainability credentials.

Built for the specification workflow

The Superstrata website (superstrata.fit) has been built specifically for the specifier workflow rather than the direct-buyer journey. It includes downloadable technical data sheets, CAD details, NBS clauses, and project case studies, along with named contact routes for architects and contractors handling live projects.

The brand will also pursue RIBA-accredited CPD content for architects and designers, and is targeting early specification work across the UK leisure trust, hotel group, and commercial gym sectors.

Sprung Gym Flooring continues unchanged

Sprung Gym Flooring (gym-flooring.com) will continue to operate as the group's direct-to-customer brand, serving the 53,000+ customers it has supplied since 2020. Marcias Ltd remains the parent company for both brands, operating from the same Glasgow warehouse and logistics infrastructure.

"Sprung is not going anywhere," McKay added. "It still does exactly what it was built to do for gym owners and operators. Superstrata is a separate front door for a completely different kind of customer."
