GAP Group North East Expands National Footprint with New Yorkshire Site
“As demand grows, our mission is to make sure every customer, wherever they are in the UK, receives the same level of service, speed, and compliance"
GAP Group North East strengthens its nationwide network with a new Yorkshire facility, bringing faster, more accessible electrical recycling services to customers across Yorkshire, the Midlands, and the South of England and Wales.
GAP Group North East, a nationwide, fully accredited electrical recycling and resource recovery provider, today announced the forthcoming opening of a new operational site in Yorkshire. The expansion marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth, driven by a straightforward ambition: to serve customers right across the UK as effectively and efficiently as possible.
With established processing facilities in Gateshead and Perthshire, the addition of a Yorkshire site is a natural next step in that journey. The Gateshead and Perth sites already provide strong coverage across the North East and Scotland respectively. Yorkshire gives GAP Group NE a central hub from which to significantly improve service for customers across Yorkshire itself, the Midlands, and the South of England and Wales, reducing collection distances and unlocking faster, more flexible processing for partners in those regions.
“As demand grows, our mission is to make sure every customer, wherever they are in the UK, receives the same level of service, speed, and compliance support. The Yorkshire site is about us providing what our customers need.”
- Nigel Tomlinson Commercial Director, GAP Group North East
What This Means for UK businesses & Local Authorities
The Yorkshire site will deliver immediate, tangible benefits for GAP Group’s diverse customer base, spanning businesses of all sizes, local authorities, compliance schemes, and the brokers, including:
- More efficient transport routes - reduced mileage and faster turnaround for collections across the regions.
- Reduced lead times - shorter wait times from collection request to processing, supporting tighter project deadlines.
- Greater flexibility in collections and processing - additional capacity to accommodate urgent, high-volume, or complex WEEE disposal needs.
Meeting Growing Demand
As regulatory pressure around WEEE compliance continues to intensify, businesses, local authorities, and the compliance schemes and brokers that support them are all seeking partners with the capacity, accreditation, and reliability to handle growing volumes across a wide range of waste streams. Demand for GAP Group’s processing services has grown significantly as a result.
Expanding the network ensures GAP Group can maintain the reliability, responsiveness, and processing capacity that all of its customers depend upon. Whether that’s a facilities management provider coordinating multi-site collections, a retailer managing a store refit, a construction contractor clearing a live project, an education trust refreshing its IT estate, or a broker fulfilling obligations on behalf of their clients, the Yorkshire site means GAP Group can say yes more often, more quickly, and more efficiently.
