FREE ENERGY-EFFICIENCY DROP-IN FOR RICHMONDSHIRE RESIDENTS
News provided by Yorkshire Energy Partnership on Wednesday 12th Jun 2013
Heat escapes from solid walls twice as fast as from cavity walls
Yorkshire Energy Partnership, the North Yorkshire sustainability company, has organised a free drop-in event for local residents who are looking to take advantage of free solid wall insulation.
Insulating your home is the best way to reduce heating bills and can save residents up to £490 per year.*
WHAT: A free drop-in event for local Richmondshire residents, to assist with claiming free solid wall insulation. Light refreshments will be available.
WHERE: Colburn Village Hall, 54 Colburn Lane, Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, DL9 4LZ.
WHEN: Friday 14th June - 3-7pm.
Denise Hall, Project Co-ordinator at Yorkshire Energy Partnership, is keen for people to drop in for a chat about how to save money by claiming free insulation:
“Heat escapes from solid walls twice as fast as from cavity walls, and until recently it was expensive to insulate them. Grants are now available to help local people claim free insulation and we don’t want local people to miss out. Anyone who comes to the event will be able to see just how the process works and sign up for a free survey.”
Certain streets within Scorton, Hipswell, Colburn and Richmond already have been identified as being suitable for external wall insulation. Residents in the eligible areas should have already received a letter - and if not, will do so shortly.
Solid wall insulation can be applied to either the inside or the outside of the wall and without grant funding costs around £4,000. To Find out more, contact Yorkshire Energy Partnership on 01904 545 020 or email advice@energypartnership.org.uk
