Former Made in Chelsea star to raise thousands in Great North Run

Former Made in Chelsea star, Frankie Gaff, will be ticking one thing off her bucket list this September in order to raise thousands of pounds for a children’s charity.
The 24 year old, who recently launched a swimwear and clothing collection for GraceJacob, will be running the UK’s biggest half marathon, the Great North Run, to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust.

The Sick Children’s Trust runs free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation for families with seriously ill children in hospital. The charity supports around 4,000 families every year across its ten ‘Homes from Home’ and although accommodation is provided free of charge, it costs the charity £30 to support a family for one night. The Sick Children’s Trust relies entirely on voluntary donations to meet this cost.

Frankie will be joined by her boyfriend, model Jon Hosking, on the iconic 13.1 mile race from Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields in an attempt to raise £10,000 for The Sick Children’s Trust. Frankie, who has been training for the last five months, says:
“Running a half marathon has been on my bucket list for the last two years and it’s a pleasure to accomplish this while making a difference to such a worthwhile cause, The Sick Children’s Trust.

“Every day, children across the country are admitted to specialist hospitals for lifesaving treatment far away from home. Hospital can be a very scary place, especially when you’re little. Having your family with you makes hospital treatment a much better experience and The Sick Children’s Trust makes this possible. The charity gives families free accommodation just moments from their sick child’s bedside. As The Sick Children’s Trust relies entirely on voluntary donations, every penny we raise will support more families who need to be there for their child, giving them the love and care they need to improve their recovery.

“Jon and I are really looking forward to taking on the Great North Run. It’s going to be hard, but it’s going to be worth it. Before we race, we will be meeting lots of other people running for The Sick Children’s Trust, including families that the charity has supported. I really hope together we can help The Sick Children’s Trust keep more families with seriously ill children in hospital together.”

The Sick Children’s Trust has to raise £2.4 million every year to meet the cost of running its ten ‘Homes from Home’ 365 days a year. Regional Fundraising Officer, Emily Corney, says:
