The Satisfied Eye International Film Festival (SEIFF) has joined forces with Odeon to become one of only a handful of top film festivals globally to provide audiences with a live programme of events following the impact of Covid-19.
And despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, filmmakers from numerous countries are committed to support the event with their attendance.
Chris Hastings, Artistic Director of SEIFF, explained: “It’s a sign of the importance of Satisfied Eye that filmmakers from around the world have already confirmed they’ll be attending in October. Most film festivals have gone online, but there’s no substitute for the live experience and everyone is desperate for entertainment. Safety is paramount, so before any decision was made we sought local opinion and were astonished to find that everyone we surveyed felt confident and was really eager to return to the cinema.”
SEIFF will run three packed days of feature films, short films, documentaries and animation at the Odeon Epsom from Friday 9 October to Sunday 11 October 2020.
Chris Hastings continued: “There are thousands of incredible filmmakers desperate to get their films back into cinemas and engage with audiences and we’re excited to be screening some of the best from multiple Oscar and BAFTA winners, the best Surrey films and 30 premieres.”
Tickets are on sale at £7.50 each or £35 for festival passes giving unlimited access to 90 films over the three days at www.satisfiedeye.com/tickets
The Odeon and SEIFF will be implementing full social distancing measures and ensuring all up-to-date government safety and sanitation guidelines are adhered to.
