A super-rich motorist in the North East sold his Ferrari California for more than £100,000 to webuyanycar.com this week - so he could trade up to his next supercar in time for Christmas.

Staff at the webuyanycar.com branch agreed a six-figure sale for the 2+2 hard-top convertible with V8 engine in less than 20 minutes when it revved up to their forecourt last week.

The luxury purchase continues a trend in 2014 which has seen webuyanycar.com buy more high end cars than ever before.

Motor industry commentators have identified this period as the best time to negotiate a cash deal on a new car as dealers scramble to meet their end of year sales targets.
