Executive Touch Are Taking the UK by Storm
small businesses and start-ups provide more job opportunities
The economy is improving and a large part of that is due to small businesses. Small businesses assist greatly to economic growth and well-being. Small businesses throughout the country are at the heart of the government’s long term economic plan. Small businesses and start-ups provide more job opportunities and place more people in employment. These SMEs also encourage consumers to spend money locally and this creates great brand loyalty which enables them to stay afloat where other businesses may fail. Last year in the UK, SMEs employed around 14.4 million people and had a combined turnover of £1,600 billion. Small businesses alone accounted for 47% of private sector employment and 33.1% of turnover.
According to Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, Yorkshire’s economy is improving in particular. With another report stating that just 1% of working age residents are claiming Job Seekers Allowance (JSA). The number of 18-24 year olds claiming JSA has fallen by 46% year on year. There has been a continued decrease in benefit claims, especially amongst young people. The local council’s free business advice service is continuing to grow in popularity. Young entrepreneurs, people who are thinking about starting a business and those already trading are all taking advantage of the help that’s on offer. Last year also saw a 22% increase in the number of one-to-one business advisor appointments for people seeking advice on starting new businesses and there was a 450% increase in the number of requirements for land enquiries. Executive Touch’s head office is based in Leeds, Yorkshire and the company has reveled in the recent economic growth.
