Eurosport to Broadcast Cyclist Thomas Dekker's Attempt to Break Legendary Hour Record
Live and exclusive HD coverage on Wednesday 25 February at 19:30 CET Paris, 24 February 2015
Eurosport is today announced as the exclusive broadcast partner for the UCI Hour Record attempt of Dutch cyclist Thomas Dekker. Fans can tune in to Eurosport 2 or the Eurosport Player tomorrow at 19:30 CET to enjoy one of the most prestigious and historic records in cycling. The event will take place in the El Velodrome de Tres Centurias de Aguascalientes, located at 1800m, in Aguacalientes, Mexico.
Thomas Dekker is the third rider to attempt the hour record in 2015. Having seen Jack Bobridge fall 500 metres short of Matthias Brändle's record of 51.852 kilometres, Dekker will need to beat the new record of 52.491 kilometres set by Rohan Dennis on February 8.
The hour record attempt will be broadcast exclusively on Eurosport in all of its 70 markets across Europe and Asia-Pacific. Besides showing every minute of Dekkers's hour record, Eurosport's coverage will include interviews with special guests from 19:15 CET and will show all the reactions immediately after the event until 20:45 CET.
Eurosport is the Home of Cycling and will broadcast 1800 hours of cycling in 2015. The Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, Vuelta a España and the greatest Classics are among the 23 UCI World Tour races and part of the list of over 40 events broadcast on Eurosport.
