Eduard Beltran Inducted as Full Member of Sigma Xi, America’s Historic Scientific Research Honor Society Founded in 1886
LONDON, 25 August 2026 — International negotiation expert, academic and author Eduard Beltran has been inducted as a Full Member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society, with affiliation to its New York University (NYU) Chapter, following his nomination in recognition of his scholarly achievements and contributions to the advancement of knowledge in his field.
Founded at Cornell University in 1886, Sigma Xi is one of America's historic scientific research honour societies. Over its 140-year history, more than 200 Sigma Xi members have received the Nobel Prize, including Albert Einstein, Enrico Fermi, Linus Pauling and Richard Feynman.
Beltran's induction brings together two dimensions of a career developed over more than two decades: academic research and the practical application of negotiation, leadership and strategic influence in complex international environments.
His work has taken him across universities, international institutions and executive education, combining academic inquiry with advisory and training work for senior leaders and organisations. He has taught negotiation, leadership and related disciplines at institutions including ESSEC Business School, Sciences Po Paris and Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
His current doctoral research examines strategic influence, negotiation and institutional change, exploring how organisations transform communication, public visibility and reputational pressure into dialogue, negotiation and measurable institutional outcomes.
“Joining Sigma Xi is a particularly meaningful distinction. Research has become an increasingly important dimension of my work, and being part of an international community with such a remarkable scientific legacy is both an honour and a responsibility,” said Beltran.
The New York University Chapter affiliation carries particular significance for Beltran, who pursued graduate studies at NYU and has maintained longstanding ties with its international academic community.
A lawyer by training, Beltran studied at the University of Barcelona, Sciences Po Paris and New York University, before developing an international career spanning law, public service, consulting, executive education and academia.
Across these different environments, his work focuses on a question increasingly central to business and institutional leaders: how can individuals and organisations build influence, negotiate effectively and create trust in environments defined by complexity, uncertainty and competing interests?
His induction as a Full Member of Sigma Xi adds a further research dimension to that international trajectory, connecting his professional work in negotiation, leadership and influence with a global community committed to original investigation and the advancement of knowledge.
