EcoSpeed Introduces Eco-Friendly Recycling Program at Junior School

News provided by EcoSpeed on Tuesday 4th Feb 2014

EcoSpeed has donated ten recycling bins to the newly-built classrooms of St Philip's C of E Primary School, on Bolton Old Road in Manchester, after hearing about the lack of recycling facilities at the local school. In an effort to get the school's young people involved in recycling, an eco-friendly recycling program was introduced.

Being passionate about the environment themselves, EcoSpeed believes that this passion is kindled from an early age and that teaching these children to re-use and recycle could start a lifelong interest in looking after the planet.

"These children are the next generation" says director Jay Knight, "and our planet will one day be in their hands. What a great place it will be if their hands are green."

Jay, and seasoned EcoSpeed driver John, carried out a short presentation to the school's 'Eco Team' before distributing the recycling bins around the school. During their visit, they educated the children about recycling and the positive impact that it has on the environment.

Mrs Ingram, an EYFS Teacher at the local school, says: "At St Philip's CE Primary School, we were extremely fortunate to receive a very kind donation from the local courier and transport company EcoSpeed, who came in to school to speak to our Eco Committee and then distributed ten new recycling bins around the school.

"The Eco Warriors decided that they would be most utilised in the new build and also in Reception classes. The whole school are very appreciative of the new bins so we want to say a massive thank you to EcoSpeed and look forward to doing some bulb planting with the company next week!"

Mr Knight adds: "All in all, it was a wonderful chance to spread the eco-friendly word and introduce the young people into the world of recycling!"
