David Lloyd Leisure Invests€700,000 In Dublin Facilities
- New DLicious cafebar to support an integrated approach to fitness
- Reception area upgraded to offer members a fresh welcome
- Second substantial investment at the club in a year
David Lloyd Leisure has invested €700,000 in its Dublin Riverview club as part of a major programme to continue providing members with unrivalled facilities to achieve their health and fitness goals.
As part of the ambitious project at the club in Beech Hill, Clonskeagh, Europe's leading health, sports and leisure group has installed a new DLicious cafebar, encouraging members to continue their health and fitness regime off the gym floor.
Members can now unwind, work or enjoy a meal in the bespoke DLicious cafebar, providing modern, stylish and relaxing surroundings – which includes an adult-only seating area – offering the whole family a great range of healthy options from the award-winning menu** and integrates David Lloyd Leisure's approach to eating with its exercise expertise.
The reception area has also had a complete makeover, providing members with a modern, sophisticated and comforting welcome area.
These refurbishments complement a previous €900,000 club investment in September 2013, which saw the introduction of a new state-of-the-art DL Kids facility to members and non-members, as well as a locker room refurbishment.
DL Kids at David Lloyd Dublin provides children aged 0-11 years with an extensive range of programmes specifically designed to complement the way they learn in pre-school and school time. Activities include arts and crafts, creative play, hundreds of types of games and sports coaching, as well as birthday parties, after-school clubs and DL Kids Holiday Active programmes during the school holidays.
Work on the Dublin project, forming part of a wider £50m facilities investment programme across David Lloyd Leisure's estate began in July, with the finishing touches due to be complete at the end of August.
David Lloyd Dublin general manager Sean Singleton said: “We are ecstatic to be able to offer the Dublin community these stunning new facilities for the whole family, which will support them in their health and fitness goals as well as providing a superb environment in which to relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life.
“The new DLicious cafebar provides the perfect social space for everyone to relax, unwind or catch up on their work email, while providing healthy and balanced meals and snacks to complement their exercise regime. It's something to be enjoyed by both an individual and the whole family; from a business professional grabbing a bite to eat on the move from our deli options to the whole family sitting down to enjoy a balanced and nutritious meal after work and play.
“David Lloyd Leisure's continued investment in Dublin demonstrates its commitment to providing the best health, sports and leisure facilities for all ages and abilities. The team cannot wait to welcome both new and existing members to enjoy the enhanced offering along with all of the club's extensive facilities, services and expertise,” added Sean.
In addition to the new and refurbished facilities, David Lloyd Dublin offers a gym, tennis, badminton and squash courts, indoor and outdoor pool, crèche, sauna, steam room, physiotherapy and hair and beauty salon.
**The DLicious: Fast Fitness Food menu was the leisure category winner in the Menu Innovation and Development Awards (MIDAS) 2014.
