Customs Declarations UK Launches NCTS6 Transit Declaration Software as HMRC Lists Platform Among Official NCTS Software Providers

Cloud-based New Computerised Transit System (NCTS6) solution enables customs agents, freight forwarders, hauliers and traders to file T1 and T2 transit declarations, generate the Transit Accompanying Document (TAD), and manage departures and arrivals from a single platform — live on the HMRC CTC Traders API.

Customs Declarations UK (CDUK), the cloud-based customs declaration software platform, announced the full launch of its New Computerised Transit System (NCTS6) solution, extending the platform's coverage of UK and EU border filing requirements to include Transit declarations. The launch follows the United Kingdom's migration to NCTS Phase 6 on 1 June 2026, which introduced updated data, security and API requirements aligning transit procedures with the EU's Import Control System 2 (ICS2).

Coinciding with the launch, AJ Software Solutions Ltd (trading as Customs Declarations UK) has been listed by HM Revenue & Customs on the official GOV.UK register of NCTS software developers — the government's published list of software providers offering New Computerised Transit System solutions to the trade.

The New Computerised Transit System is the platform that controls the movement of goods under Union and Common Transit, allowing customs duty and taxes to be suspended while goods travel under customs control between offices of departure, transit and destination across the EU and the wider Common Transit Convention (CTC) area. For businesses moving goods between Great Britain and the EU — or operating the Ireland-to-Europe landbridge via the UK — transit declarations are a daily operational requirement, and the transition to NCTS6 has raised the technical bar for every departure and arrival.

The Customs Declarations UK NCTS6 solution addresses that requirement end to end. Users can file T1, T2 and T2F transit declarations at the office of departure, receive the Movement Reference Number (MRN), and generate the Transit Accompanying Document (TAD) once the movement is released — then manage arrival notifications and unloading remarks at the office of destination from the same account. The platform enables declarants to use their own comprehensive guarantee (GRN), guarantee waiver or individual guarantee, retaining full control of their financial cover.

The solution applies real-time validation of commodity codes, EORI numbers and Guarantee Reference Numbers before submission, significantly reducing rejections and border holds. Efficiency features include guided step-by-step wizards, a streamlined Compact Mode for high-volume users, bulk CSV and Excel upload, cloning of existing movements for repeat trade lanes, the ability to build a transit declaration directly from an existing CDS export declaration, and AI-assisted document processing (Customs Intelligent Document Processing – IDP), that extracts data from invoices, packing lists and CMRs to populate declaration fields.
