Alma Turner, the Lady Captain at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club during 2019, nominated Crowborough Community First Responders as her charity.
The amount raised by the members during the year was over £17,000. This was split equally between the Crowborough Community First Responders, and Macmillan Cancer Support which was the nominated charity of the Men’s Captain.
Crowborough Community First Responders received a cheque for £8,528 which has been confirmed as the largest single one-off donation in the charity’s history.
The money was raised through a number of events held in the year.
Speaking on receipt of the cheque, Nicki Pointer (Team Leader – Crowborough CFR) said:
“We are thrilled to have received this amazing amount of money through donations at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club, after being the nominated chosen charity by Alma, the Lady Captain. This money will go towards placing more Public Access Defibrillators in our community, which potential will save more lives.”
