Coventry Orchestra Celebrates ‘Music of the British Isles’ at Summer Concert
Coventry orchestra invites audiences on a musical tour around the nations and landscapes of the British Isles at its summer concert.
The Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra invites audiences on a musical tour around the nations and landscapes of the British Isles at its upcoming summer concert. All proceeds from the concert will support the community kitchen at Foleshill United Reformed Church, which provides meals, hospitality and practical support for local people and families in the Foleshill community.
Taking place at 3pm on Saturday 20th June at Foleshill United Reform Church, 700 Old Church Road, Coventry, CV6 6GR, the concert promises an entertaining afternoon of music inspired by places, traditions and stories from across the British Isles.
The programme features much-loved favourites including the energising Lord of the Dance, the comic brilliance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, the rich folk-inspired melodies of The Suffolk Suite, and the excitement and glamour of Themes from 007 — alongside many more musical journeys from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Earlier this year, the orchestra’s World Poetry Day concert featuring special guest narrator Iain Lauchlan raised around £1,500 for Earlsdon Carnegie Community Library, helping support its work promoting literacy, learning and community engagement in Coventry.
Tickets are priced at £11 for adults, £8 concessions, and just £1 for under 16s. Tickets are available online via TicketSource and on the door, subject to availability.
Now in its 107th year, the Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra remains a vibrant part of Coventry’s cultural life. Proudly sponsored by the Heart of England Co-operative Society, the orchestra brings together musicians from across the region to perform accessible, entertaining concerts while raising funds for worthwhile causes.
Join us for an afternoon of musical postcards from around the British Isles — from rolling countryside and coastal adventures to spies, sailors and stirring folk dances.
