Celebrating Women's Success and Collaboration

News provided by Positive Publicity on Thursday 14th Mar 2013

I AM WOMAN has been helping women by walking alongside them as they build their confidence and skills in business. There are many exceptionally talented women who go unnoticed, all with a story to tell and experiences to share: - whether it be recovering from breast cancer, coping with being part of a family business, overcoming mental exhaustion or their tactics for surviving and thriving.

To capture this I AM WOMAN set a challenge to its members. They wanted 12 women to write a book for Kindle that could be shared with women all over the world, in time for their International I AM WOMAN Day Celebrations on March 19th 2013 .An initiative was launched called ‘The Kindle Book Publishing Challenge’ driven forward by 2 amazing women in publishing Jacqui Malpass and Cathy Presland. The time period for this was just 5 months,

Did they do it? That old saying came into play, ‘ if you want to get anything done, give it to a busy woman!’ On March 19th 2013, 12 women, most of whom had no experience of writing a book, will be published Kindle book authors. This will enable them to raise their profile, share their experience and expertise and encourage other women to find their voice and do the same.

The budding authors from England, Scotland and Wales have been given advice and guidance from book coaches Cathy Presland and Jacqui Malpass. This was designed to help them stay focused and keep them motivated.

At 65 Marianne Pettifor from Swansea is the oldest writer: ‘ I never thought I would write a book at my age, this has made me realise just how important it is to share our stories.’

Presland and Malpass commented ‘So often, people fail at the first hurdle because they feel alone with their writing project. With this challenge we created a team spirit which has carried everyone through the highs and lows of writing.’

Cheryl Bass launched the I AM WOMAN business clubs in the UK over a year ago with the intention of creating a community of women who could learn and share business and life experiences by walking along side each other. Cheryl says, ‘All over the world women are sharing their gifts. At I AM WOMAN we have been encouraging our entrepreneurs to publish books and build successful on going careers from their many years of experience.

We keep rerunning our stories in our minds, changing bits of it as we relive realisations on aspects of it that run like a ladder in a pair of tights through the rest of it. We have all lived through our childhoods with very different experiences to share, met and travelled alongside characters who have loved, hurt, inspired us or driven us to distraction, some have battled serious health challenges that have toppled them out of their shoes for a while.

When we read a story we can feel for the other person, feel we are alongside them and can reflect their lives into our hearts.’

The International I AM WOMAN Day Celebrations on March 19th 2013 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Cardiff, promise to be a fabulous experience. On arrival guests will be treated to demonstrations, exhibitions and presentations by Vivienne Sharman Lewis and the Miss Universe Wales Contestants. Entrepreneur Anna Marie Thomas will then officially launch International I AM WOMAN Day. This will be followed by sessions from Hattie Hasan, Philanthropist and founder of Stopcocks the only all female self employed National Plumbers Business and Gill Potter, one of the Kindle book authors and an Archetypal Consultant & Astrologer. Jacqui Malpass and Cathy Presland will then issue their Publishing Challenge Awards. Next, Author and Business Consultant Marianne Pettifor will speak. The evening will round off with further networking opportunities, raffles, auctions, music and dancing. It’s sure to be a great event, to celebrate the success and collaborative talents of women internationally.
