Bruni Erben appoints Andre Barnard as General Manager in South Africa

Bruni Erben, a UK headquartered company with more than six decades of experience supplying closures, glass, and machinery to the wine, beer, and spirits markets today announced that Andre Barnard has joined the company as General Manager for South Africa. Barnard’s experience at Guala Closures and Nampak Glass helps to strengthen Bruni Erben South Africa as he draws on the company’s expansive global network of sourcing partners to lower costs and assure quality products for customers.

Acquired in March of 2018 by Berlin Packaging, the world’s leading supplier of plastic, glass, and metal containers and closures, Bruni Erben builds on its 13 years of successfully serving South African customers by adding team members with in-depth industry insights and specific knowledge of the region and market.

Andre has been in the packaging industry since 1993 covering the wine, spirits and drinks markets, and outside work enjoys riding with the BMW Cape Motorcycle Club, exploring the many dirt roads of South Africa, as well as cooking at home and training his umbrella cockatoo.

Responding to the record growth of the South African wine market, now one of the world’s largest with exports over 450 million litres per year, Bruni Erben South Africa continues to find income-boosting opportunities for vineyards and drinks producers throughout the region by providing innovative packaging products and solutions.

In November 2019 the company will re-locate to larger premises in Montague Park, Cape Town to further cater for this growing market and help customers be more profitable.
