Throughout 2015, Bravington Capital have been sharing some of the world's most inspiring business stories with young entrepreneurs to help them progress within the sales and marketing industry. Most recently, the firm reviewed some of the lesser known achievements of famous entrepreneurs, such as how before becoming the creator of the world's most popular social media site, Mark Zuckerberg got his first taste of success at the age of 12, when he created a messaging programme for his father's dentist office. The firm believes it is important to share these lesser known, yet inspirational stories as they help convey how celebrating even the smallest accomplishments can build the motivation needed to work towards larger more impressive goals. The firm also revealed to young entrepreneurs that it was in fact women who pioneered entrepreneurship in the UK during the introduction of the ale and beer trade, with women becoming the breadwinners for their families by brewing their own unique recipes at home.

To spread some New Year motivation among budding entrepreneurs, Bravington Capital have recently been looking at the most impressive start-up stories of 2015. To help inspire a healthy start-up community in 2016, the firm have shared some of their favourite start-up achievements below.

Ride

Despite facing huge competition and criticism from apps such as Uber, CEO of Ride Oscar Salazar was determined to create an app which made commuting faster, easier and better for the environment. Having previously worked alongside Uber's CEO Travis Kalanick, Salazar used his expertise to create an app that matched commuters up so that they could car share and save money on train and taxi journeys.

Periscope

Periscope is an excellent example of how a great business idea can generate excitement. The video live-streaming app was snapped up by social media giants Twitter before it even launched. Unlike rival apps, Periscope allows video footage to be replayed, making it an instant hit with consumers.

Towers Designs

Launching Towers Designs at just 16 years old, Ben Towers is a prime example that age does not dictate success in business. Towers founded the Kent-based company in September 2011, aged 13, after working as a freelance web designer for two years. Towers then scaled his web design service into a full-scale, multi-channel service which helps “forward-thinking" small and medium businesses to succeed online on a budget. Although his age has made certain aspects of business difficult, and has lost him contracts in the past, Towers has refused to give up and his business turnover is estimated to hit £500,000 bey the end of 2015.
