3DShook releases online tool - Appz, and announces multiple industry partnerships

3DShook, the world's largest content creator for consumer 3D printing, releases Appz, a full set of online tools for creating, handling and customising 3D-printable products. Appz will be available at no cost to the global community of makers. In addition, 3DShook announces new payment options and numerous new partnerships and collaborations.

Appz will be updated periodically with tools allowing users to create new types of products. This toolset will be offered at no cost to 3DShook members until the end of 2015. Appz is part of a larger set of online tools from 3DShook, giving users a wide range of options, including the following:

- Local file handling—Simply drag an stl or obj file to your browser

- 2D-to-3D tool/editor based on images, text and shapes—Simply drag a jpg or png image to your browser and start creating

- Image and text wrapping and placement on 3D objects

- Unique, highly precise 3D ruler for scaling and measuring models

- Overhang shader to highlight areas that need support

- Basic online modeller for beginners learning the ropes

- Export to third-party services, such as 3DHubs, Shapeways and i.materialise

Along with these online tools, the development team at 3DShook also targets professional users with its recently released Autodesk Maya plugin, the 3DShook Printing Exporter, which allows Maya users to scale, place and position models within Maya, get print quotes from external services and print items using our tools. The plugin is available at no cost from the Autodesk App Store.

The plugin supports over 50 printer bed grids and offers Maya users instant access to all of 3DShook's online printing tools.

3DShook has been growing quickly since its launch, adding over 750 new, exclusive products and currently offering 1300 tested, functional 3D printable products. Following numerous requests from users, the company recently introduced a pay-per-print option for its products and three file pack options. These file packs will be added to 3DShook's existing monthly and yearly subscription plans.

3DShook has become an official content provider for XYZ printing through its online store. The Taiwanese manufacturer recently exhibited at the Shanghai International 3D Printing Expo, showcasing numerous 3DShook products at its booth.

3DShook's lite memberships are now offered with many 3D printers, such as BEEVERYCREATIVE, Solidoodle, CEL Robox and Dagoma. 3DShook now offers direct slicing of its files to mBot 3D printers, and it will soon offer collections to NewMatter users through the online store. In addition, 3D printer distributors, such as Afinia in the United States and Logicom and Igo3D in Europe, have added 3DShook access to their new printers.
