20i Celebrates 10 Years of Web Hosting Innovation

Global hosting specialist marks a decade of growth, international expansion and investment in proprietary technology

Web hosting provider 20i (www.20i.com) is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade in which it has grown to a global provider supporting more than one million websites worldwide.

Launched in 2016 by hosting industry veterans Tim and Jonathan Brealey, 20i was built on almost two decades of experience in web hosting. Since then, the company has expanded beyond its original UK infrastructure, establishing a presence in Dallas, Texas and more recently, Singapore as its international customer base has grown.

Throughout the decade, 20i has focused heavily on developing its own technology. This includes its proprietary autoscaling cloud infrastructure, which dynamically adjusts resources as demand changes, and My20i, its custom-built control panel.

The company has also received increasing industry recognition, including being named Best Web Host at the PC Pro Awards for three consecutive years in 2023, 2024 and 2025, alongside awards for customer support, cloud hosting and innovation.

Lloyd Cobb, Director at 20i, said: “Reaching 10 years is an important milestone, but what matters most is what it represents: a decade of listening to customers, growing the business and continually looking for ways to make hosting better.

“Developing our own platforms and technology gives us much more control over how our hosting evolves. We can take feedback from customers and turn it into improvements without waiting for a third-party vendor or being restricted by someone else’s development roadmap.

“That has become increasingly important as the hosting industry has changed. Over the past decade we’ve seen the continued rise of WordPress, more sophisticated security threats, major changes in cloud infrastructure and, most recently, the emergence of AI.

“The technology will keep changing, but our approach remains the same. We want to understand what our customers need, build the right solutions and have the expertise in-house to keep improving them.”
