Yeates’ charity fundraising moves in the right direction
Yeates is celebrating raising more than £11,500 for Children's Hospice South West since it started working with the charity in 2006.
A total of £11,628 has been raised through staff events, participation in the Hospice's Corporate Challenge event and regular donations.
Yeates Managing Director James Griffin said: "We are delighted that the small sums have added up over the years. We get a lot of satisfaction out of our partnership with CHSW and try and do all we can to help in a variety of ways."
In addition to cash fundraising and donations, the Clevedon-based removals company also offers time and resources as part of its ongoing support. This includes a charity service for customers by collecting unwanted, good quality furniture and household goods during home removals. The goods are then sold in CHSW shops.
James Griffin added: "Our customers really like the opportunity to declutter during their move whilst donating to charity at the same time. We take all the hard work out of it for them as we move and collect everything making it as straightforward as possible."
Yeates' distinctive lorries also help out at CHSW events such as the Rainbow Run and Santa's on the Run by providing transport and even a helping hand from James himself.
He added: "We are a family-run firm that has been operating in the area for more than 100 years and it is very rewarding for us to support a local charity which does such important work."
Janey Hellman, CHSW's Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser said: "Yeates has been a huge supporter of Children's Hospice South West starting with our appeal to build Charlton Farm, our local hospice in Wraxall, back in 2006. Since then Yeates has continued to increase the support offered by getting involved in many different aspects of fundraising. We are so grateful for the donations that Yeates has made but the value of our partnership goes far beyond this with the huge amount of time and resources that Yeates has contributed to supporting our charity shops and fundraising events."
