Launchpad PLC the international property crowdfunding platform is emerging from a year long stealth mode and for the first time will allow investors to fund property projects across the world.
The company has just listed its shares on Crowdcube to build upon its war chest for a launch in May. Launchpad PLC is the first ever PLC to list on Crowdcube
Founder Jonathan DeCarteret whose previous start-up was the UK's 60th fastest-growing company (Post-Switch) is joined by Graeme Dornan, with experience in over £1.5bn property transactions, a Banker specialising in derivative funds and alternative investments and Mazen Marar, property mogul and co-founder of clothing behemoth Bench (FMCG).
With offices in Mayfair and at the top of Canary Wharf, Launchpad allows investors the choice of lending to developers or taking an equity stake in the property venture. Investors can view trending projects, follow other successful investors and spread their portfolio around the word.
Launchpad PLC has been granted an OFT licence, interim permissions by the FCA, is a member of the Government's Growth Accelerator scheme and Challenger Business consultation partner to No 10 and FCA. It is important to keep in mind that recently the FCA announced policies that will regulate the crowdfunding platforms in the UK.
Crowdfunding is considered a disruptive technology, emerging from obscurity a few years ago to generating over $5bn in finance in 2013 (Massolution) and predicted by the World Bank to grow exponentially until 2025.
