Unbeatable Car takes fund raising for Dreamflight

to new heights

As part of their annual fundraising, two of the team from Unbeatable Car, the largest car supermarket in the south, will be abseiling from the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth over the August bank holiday weekend. Not just for the fun of it, but to raise money for Dreamflight.

Dreamflight takes seriously ill and disabled children on a once in a lifetime dream holiday to DisneyWorld in Florida. This great trip takes place once every year in October and companies and individuals raise funds to make it happen. Nearly 5,500 children have benefited from this holiday of a lifetime.

Accountant Graham Ellison, based at Unbeatable Car Crawley is not the most likely suspect to take part in this year's abseiling fundraiser. But nobody was surprised that Kimberley Jane from the Portsmouth branch is the second person. Lively Kimberley Jane was enthusiastic from the start especially as abseiling from the Spinnaker Tower is on her bucket list.

Unbeatable Car will also take a Ford KA at the Gunwharf Quays filled with balloons. Visitors and spectators will be invited to guess the number of balloons in the KA and go into a prize draw. A donation for entry will go directly to the charity and the winner of the draw will claim their prize of £500. Everyone's a winner potentially.

Although they don't always choose such wild ways to support the charity, Unbeatable Car have now raised amazing amounts of cash every year for the last ten years. "The reason is simple," says director Linda Moore, "We support the wonderful annual trip that Dreamflight organises every year.

"We manage to raise between £8,000 and £12,000 every year with various events. This doesn't even begin to cover the colossal £750,000 it takes just to get the plane into the air; but our contribution is always gratefully received.

"This year we hope our two team members and visitors guessing the number of balloons will do us proud and raise a record amount."

Unbeatable Car supply T-shirts for the group and their carers on the annual trip and collected monies go towards things to keep the children amused on the long flight as well as ice-cream spending money once there.

We wish Graham and Kimberley Jane good luck both with the challenge and raising money.
