News provided by UHY WKH Partnership on Wednesday 25th Jul 2012
UHY Hacker Young Group have launched an entirely new Rural and Agriculture national sector group, headed by Tim Maris, partner at UHY WKH Partnership.
Farming is a specialist business, having unique practices and conventions, making it unlike other commercial enterprises. Farming is not only a business, but a way of life and Tim and his team understand that the farming community want to deal with people that understand the rural economy.
As Tim explians "The UHY WKH Partnership agri-business team have a genuine knowledge of the sector and the relevant experience to help. In addition we have a thorough understanding of the business structures under which farming businesses operate, whether that is company, partnership, sole trader or a trust structure. We also understand the practicalities of farming and are at home speaking with, advising and acting for clients, tailoring our approach to meet individual circumstances. By listening to and understanding the needs and hopes of our clients, we have developed a working method that centres around a mutual relationship of trust and commitment."
Farming enterprises and their related businesses are also often in need of proactive advice in relation to business structures, succession and/ or tax planning. UHY WKH Partnership can also provide planning advice to clients looking to diversify into new business areas such as wind, solar and anaerobic digestion. The team provides a comprehensive range of agricultural accounting and taxation services that will give rural and agri-businesses the confidence to develop their business.
The sector is headed by Tim Maris, a partner at the UHY WKH Partnership Royston office and draws on expertise around the UK from the other UHY Hacker Young Group offices. Tim studied agriculture at college and has dealt with farming clients throughout his accountancy career, building up a team of specialists within his office.
