The Nation's Favourite Motown Songs

'The Nation's Favourite Motown Songs', featuring 40 of the greatest Motown hits of all time, has rocketed to the top of the charts making it the UK's official number one compliation album. Motown was born in the late 1950's in Detroit – the famous car-manufacturing city known as 'Motor Town', which also had a thriving live music scene. The nickname was eventually shortened to 'Motown' and soon become the name of one of the most iconic record labels of all time. The album features some of the best Motown artists of all time including The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, Lionel Richie and Smokey Robinson.

50 years on, Motown is still a phenomenon but it wasn't just about the music, it was the complete package of each artist's personal presentation; their clothing, hair, dance moves, which will all be explored in the ITV show. The 40-track album celebrates this wonderful blend of words, music and performance that remains so close to our hearts.

The album 'The Nation's Favourite Motown Songs' features not only the full top 20 voted tracks from ITV's The Nation's Favourite Motown Song but some of the best Motown artists including The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, Lionel Richie and Smokey Robinson, but also a second disc featuring other classic Motown tracks.

The 40-track album celebrates the wonderful world of Motown - the blend of words, music and performance that remains so close to our hearts.
