The Japan Association of New Economy (JANE) welcomed H.E. Mr. Erik Slottner, Minister for Public Administration of Sweden.

On October 9, 2025, The Japan Association of New Economy (JANE) welcomed H.E. Mr. Erik Slottner, Minister for Public Administration of Sweden. During the meeting, JANE presented various policy proposals for “Japan Transformation”, including digitalization, regional revitalization, leveraging new technologies like AI, work engagement reform and tax and regulatory reforms. Minister Slottner explained Sweden’s digital strategy, covering areas such as further enhancing digital competence, digital transformation in welfare and public administration, and digital connectivity including 5G. 　　

 We also touched on JANE’s advocacy activities towards EU, with discussions on a wide range of topics including Open RAN technologies, AI regulations, EU’s DMA Act and Japan’s new Mobile Software Competition Act. This visit served as a valuable opportunity to deepen mutual understanding in digital policy and explore potential future collaboration.
