The gifted and talented teenage hip-hop artist ABBY POWER releases her DEBUT single!

This January signals the release of the debut single from the very talented Abby Power. Abby brings the 90’s and early 2000’s hip-hop and rap era back to life. Only 18 years old, this extremely talented and ambitious young artist, who at the age of 16 managed to record and write her first mix tape in just 4 days. The 16 track mixtape named ‘Amplified: Mixed Emotions’ was created with Soun’wave a producer and songwriter from the UK rap group The Fourth Kind and was released on April 14th 2011. Following the release of ‘Amplified Mixed Emotions’, Abby released ‘Each Lyric’ her biggest hit to date, receiving over 203,000 hits in both the US and the UK.

This North West London girl of Irish heritage is profoundly inspired by rapper Eminem and grew up listening to Jay Z, Dr Dre, Missy Elliot, Aaliyah and TLC and started writing Def Poetry as a way of portraying her messages before transforming them into lyrics. She has recorded numerous videos with Linkup TV and MC.TV. Her first music video ‘See Me Fall’ featuring singer/songwriter Courtney Bennett has received over 17,000 views.

After signing to Vintage State Music, Inc. in January 2012, the 20th June 2012, saw the release of Abby’s second 16-track mixtape. The mixtape entitled 'Vintage State Of Mind', had over 1,500 total downloads in just under 2 months and most definitely takes the listener on a journey back to the 90’s.

Vintage State launched last year on the 1st November 2011, with a soul aim of supporting the progress of urban culture, through programmes targeted at providing a platform for independent artists. Abby Power was the first artist to be signed to the recording division and is the lead artist in a video showcase that celebrates the company’s one-year milestone. The short video documentary showcases Abby Power’s progress in the music scene, the success and positive reviews in the media of her recent mixtape ‘Vintage State Of Mind, and announces Abby’s release of her debut single in January.

The music on her forthcoming EP and Debut single, set for release under Vintage State Music, conveys Abby’s raw emotion whilst blending the sound of the 90’s hip-hop era, allowing her to make that mainstream cross over from the underground scene.
