I want to bring the music and energy of the Ibiza club
AN Ibiza-style club night is expected to attract hundreds of teenage music lovers to Stoke’s Kings Hall on Friday.
Teenage Kicks, aimed at 13-17 year olds, is being held at the Kings Hall in Stoke on Friday 12th July, from 7-11pm. The under 18s club night is expected to attract more than 700 music lovers.
The huge-scale event has been organised by Nevermore Events, founded by Newcastle couple Tony and Stephanie Talbot, and run with their son, Joe, himself a guitarist with a background in music technology.
Event organiser Stephanie said: “Our aim is not to put on a ‘nappy night’ but to provide teenagers with a proper club night, complete with headline DJ.
“We’ve put the same time and effort into Teenage Kicks, that we would an over 18s event. On the night there will be sets from local DJs, incredible light and sound effects, and a live text feed which will be displayed on huge screens around the venue.”
Headlining the event is Stafford-based DJ HenryM. Real name Henry Morris, the DJ will play a mix of hardcore and hardhouse tunes. Henry is exciting to be playing to a capacity crowd at the venue.
He said: “Under 18 nights can often be boring commercial events, where as this event caters for young adults without feeling the need to patronise them or insult them with a school disco experience.
“I want to bring the music and energy of the Ibiza club scene to Stoke and make sure it’s not lost in translation.”
Supporting HenryM will be talented young DJs from across North Staffordshire and South Cheshire, including Joshua Dutton, aged 15, from Newcastle, Dylan Malkin, aged 15 from Congleton, and 12-year-old Max Logan from Meir Park.
Glow in the dark wristbands will also be available to buy on the night, and every penny raised will go to Alice Charity, an organisation based in Newcastle-under-Lyme which aims to help and support disadvantaged families in Staffordshire.
Doors open for Teenage Kicks at 7pm and tickets are on sale now at a cost of just £5 and on the door. Tickets are on sale from Music Mania in Hanley and Gravity in Newcastle, or alternatively log onto www.nevermore.ticketsource.co.uk
