Tax Cut Could Drive Growth In Corporate Summer Parties, Say Eventa
News provided by Eventa on Friday 30th Mar 2012
The cut in corporation tax from 26% to 24% that comes into effect next month could see companies increasing their spend on events for employees, including summer parties, according to party organisers Eventa. The Brighton-based group have been specialising in the organisation of company Christmas parties since 2009 and recently branched out into the world of summer events. Once seen as something of a lavish treat for large City firms, these parties are now starting to open up to the wider corporate market, according to Eventa MD Rob Hill.
"Many corporate summer parties have now taken on the format of shared festive events whereby several companies join together for one party, thus spreading the high cost of theming and entertainment. Together with the cut in corporation tax, this will mean that more companies will be looking into summer parties as a reward for employees' hard work."
Eventa say that the tax cut will benefit suppliers and venues hosting large, exclusive summer parties the most. Events taking place in the gardens of country mansions that can cost many thousands of pounds in particular will see a rise in uptake.
"It is these lavish dos that are the most sought after, absolutely," states Hill. "A lot of organisations will see this tax break as an opportunity to enjoy parties that they couldn't quite justify the spend for before."
These events take several forms, including outdoor 'soires', themed balls and motivational team-building days. Usually included are elements such as a Pimms reception, barbecue lunch and live bands. Themes such as All The Fun Of The Fair and Circus Circus can even include fairground rides and circus performances in the package.
"We are really pushing the boat out in terms of entertainment," explains Hill. "Whilst we expect to see the trend of London summer parties being the most in-demand continuing, we also expect the forthcoming tax cut for businesses to see uptake in cities with industry and business such as Manchester, Birmingham and Southampton."
