Superhero Walk for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund
You just never know who might turn up!
Real superheroes live in the hearts of small children fighting big battles.
In their name, we’d like local supporters to join the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund for our Superhero Walk at Temple Newsam Park, Leeds on September 4th.
Our 1-mile sponsored walk will include heroes from the general public, families and friends of congenital heart patients, plus the patients themselves, all coming together to raise vital funds for the congenital heart unit at the LGI.
If it’s anything like last year, you’ll join forces with Batman, Spiderman, Minions, Superman, Iron Man, Peppa Pig, Catwoman, Wolverine, Captain America, Hulk, Flash, Thor, Wonder Woman, and of course, our own Katie Bear.
You just never know who might turn up!
However, real superheroes are disguised as ordinary people with extraordinary hearts - and costumes are not mandatory.
Whether it’s your favourite character, one you created or you’re appearing in your normal gear, heroes of all ages, ability and creativity are welcome.
Here’s your itinerary for the event on September 4th:
11:00am: Superhero registration (even heroes have to sign in)
12 noon: Walk starts (flying is optional)
Family activities until 3pm!
(Times to be confirmed)
Family tickets are £10, and can include two adults and up to three children.
We also ask families to raise a minimum of £50 for CHSF.
Bring along a picnic, or use the local food facilities to keep your superhero powers at full strength.
We will also have face painters, balloon modellers, a bouncy castle and an ice cream van!
The event this year has been very kindly funded by Simplyhealth.
Sarah Ford, spokesperson for Simplyhealth, commented: “We’re delighted to sponsor The Superhero Walk. It’s events like these which enables the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund to continue with the fantastic work they do.”
To buy tickets, call 0113 392 3987 or email Ben at events@chsf.org.uk.
