Soon you will be able to sail into the Edinburgh Festival

Edinburgh Marina Development today endorsed the idea proposed by Fergus Linehan chief of Edinburgh Festival that in future the Festival could be be expanded to Granton. The Edinburgh Marina Development company confirmed today that the area around the new 429 berth Edinburgh Marina had recently been redesigned to provide additional fully-serviced public open space which would be available for arts and leisure.

A spokesperson for the developer said today “We have always believed that Edinburgh Marina, being so close to the city centre, would make an ideal location for the expansion of the Edinburgh Festival.”

Will Gunn Managing Director of Wilson & Gunn Architects (WGA), the developer’s architect said today “The Edinburgh Marina development is a fantastic opportunity for Edinburgh to enhance its renowned cultural and leisure offering to the city and its visitors. The development will elevate both well-established events and deliver creative space for new exciting programs."
