Greater Manchester vehicle tracking specialist SafeTrack is using KeySIM multi-network IoT SIM cards to connect its Teltonika Telematics vehicle tracking devices, providing mobile data and SMS connectivity across Vodafone, O2, EE and Three.

GREATER MANCHESTER, UK – SafeTrack Vehicle Tracking Services, a rapidly expanding provider of GPS vehicle tracking solutions, has selected KeySIM to provide the IoT SIM connectivity for its Teltonika Telematics tracking devices.

SafeTrack provides vehicle tracking technology to businesses and vehicle owners who need reliable, real-time visibility of their vehicles and assets. As the company continues to expand, dependable mobile connectivity has become an increasingly important part of the service it delivers.

The company uses Teltonika Telematics GPS tracking devices, which communicate using both mobile data and SMS. Unlike fixed equipment, vehicle trackers can travel throughout the UK and regularly move between areas served by different mobile networks.

KeySIM’s multi-network IoT SIM cards give SafeTrack’s devices access to Vodafone, O2, EE and Three in the UK from a single SIM, helping maintain connectivity as vehicles move between different network coverage areas.

For SafeTrack, the move to KeySIM has delivered a significant improvement in the reliability of the connectivity behind its tracking service.

Sean Andrew Whittaker, Managing Director of SafeTrack, commented:

“Since migrating to KeySIM, our connectivity uptime has improved to beyond 99.9%, with no prolonged outages in the past two years. Prolonged outages were one of my biggest concerns because our customers depend on their tracking devices being connected when they need them.

“We pride ourselves on supplying the best technology based on quality rather than simply choosing on cost. Using Teltonika Telematics hardware together with KeySIM’s multi-network connectivity gives us the confidence that we are providing our customers with a high-quality and reliable tracking solution.”

The combination of mobile data and SMS is particularly well suited to vehicle telematics. Tracking devices can use mobile data to communicate location and telemetry information, while SMS provides an additional communication channel for supported device functions and commands.

KeySIM also enables SafeTrack to manage its IoT SIM estate as the business expands, including the ability to activate and deactivate SIM cards when required.

Graham Robinson, Managing Director and Founder of KeySIM, said:

“GPS vehicle tracking devices are a perfect application for KeySIM. A vehicle can travel anywhere in the country, so it needs the widest possible mobile coverage rather than being dependent on one network.

“KeySIM gives these devices access to Vodafone, O2, EE and Three in the UK from a single SIM. Vehicle trackers also typically use relatively small amounts of data, while SMS capability and the ability to turn SIMs on and off when required make our IoT SIMs particularly well suited to this type of application.

“SafeTrack has chosen to build its service around quality technology and reliable connectivity, and we’re delighted to be supporting them as the business continues its rapid expansion.”

KeySIM is a rapidly growing UK IoT SIM provider specialising in multi-network connectivity for connected devices. Its SIM cards are used across applications including vehicle tracking, CCTV, healthcare, retail, hospitality, environmental monitoring and remote infrastructure.

The KeySIM website features organisations including Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, Conwy County Borough Council, Punch Pubs & Co and fashion retailer FATFACE among customers and deployments using its IoT connectivity services.

With SafeTrack continuing to expand its vehicle tracking operations, the partnership provides a scalable connectivity solution capable of supporting a growing number of Teltonika Telematics devices across the UK.
